Fritz Močnik

The intensive collaboration between Löffler and Fritz Močnik started in 2008. Močnic studied furniture making and architecture at Vienna's University of Applied Arts and, in 1978, founded a co-operative for wood workshops based in Austria's South Kaernten region, the 'Holzwerkstätten in Südkärnten'.

Under Max Bill, Johannes Spalt, Luigi Blau and Anna Praun, he develops 'new furniture', which finds its niche on the European art market following Gert Jonke's powerful description of the exhibition in 1980. Močnik studies environmental management during the many years he spent working as a product developer for an Austrian office furniture company, and creates the furniture label 'kolloko'.

Since 2008, he has developed the product ranges 'holzer' and 'knopfler' and redesigned a number of successful products. At Löffler, Močnik has achieved the ideal balance between ergonomics and new design.
