Employees of the Museum for Concrete Art visit the Löffler Collection

Together with the employees of the Museum for Concrete Art (Museum für konkrete Kunst) in Ingolstadt, museum director Dr. Tobias Hoffmann visited the Löffler Collection. Managing Director Werner Löffler and curator Helmut Klarner led the visitors through the collection of more than 700 exhibits.

Curator Rasmus Kleine, museum educator Miriam Müller, technical services manager Josef Templer and the curator of the Foundation of Concrete Art and Design, Amely Deiss, posed questions regarding the individual designers and processing techniques. In conclusion, the group of visitors was photographed in front of the Alvar Aalto shelf in the Löffler Collection.

Alvar Aalto (* 1898 † 1976) today still ranks as one of the best-known Finnish designers and architects. In his work, the designer placed great value on the use of natural, high-quality materials.

The Löffler Collection incorporates several Alvar Aalto furniture items, including the stool with 4 "L" legs dating from 1933. The "L" leg is birch wood curved by 90 ° with a laminated bending area. The Finnish designer developed the armchair Model 41 for the Paimio sanatorium.

His most important buildings include the municipal library in Viipuri, the Paimio sanatorium, the Essen opera house as well as the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki.
